I am putting my rolling chassis up for sale. I was planning to use this car as a pro-street esque FWD car to use all of my parts that you've likely seen me making/talking about.
Sadly, life dictates otherwise right now, and as I have recently graduated and accepted a job in Florida, I need a reliable daily car in the meantime to get me there safely.
This car is not perfect, but it's pretty damned nice. I sold my '86 to buy this car because the underbody is fantastic. As the pictures will show, the passenger toe panel area is the only floor rust on this vehicle. It's very minimal at that, there is only one soft spot in the very center of this. A very small aptch panel and some sanding/paint work and the car would be dandy. This is WHY I bought this car. I haven't seen many other L bodies out there, espescially from MI, that look this good underneath.
The exterior of the car is perhaps a 8/10, just because I'm picky. It's a great 5 footer, as obvious from the pictures. Someone has done some paint work, and it wasn't the best. It shines up nicely, but the passenger door has several dings down it, the passenger fender has a kink (see picture) the hood has fisheyes on it here and there, as well as one spot that has been sanded too deeply. The drivers side door is dull under the clear, as if it wasn't sanded smooth enough. There is also thin paint on the drivers rear quarter. The roof are is fading in the silver portion, and the striped have blued.
I'm making it sound worse than it is, but I guess that's what I do. Once again, this car only needs a quick body/paint job and it would be a fantastic car. This was my original intent with it.
The doors open and shut like no other L body I've ever had. They just click into position like they should. The hatch opens and holds itself without issue too! The interior is in very good shape, just needs some cleaning time that I haven't gotten around to and it would be near perfect. There is no radio, as it didn't have one when I bought it.
All the glass is in great shape, and the car was throughly dowsed yesterday and doesn't appear to have any of the traditional L body leaks. The parking brake even works!!!!
There is NO DRIVETRAIN with this vehicle! It is a ROLLING CHASSIS ONLY!
Modifications:
MP extended wheel studs on the front
Wheel spacers on front
Rota Slipstream 15x6.5's with Falken Ziex rears with 90% tread left, BFG 225/50/15 drag radials up front with little life left in them.
FWD Performance Koni coilver setup, one of the first few sets. It has performed flawalessly and is worth every bit of the price. These ARE INCLUDED with the car!!
Brand new Walbro 255 pump in tank. Never even been turned on or powered.
The car is sold as you see in the pictures, wheels/tires, suspension included!
I am asking $2500 OBO. I am slightly flexible for the right buyer, but not huge amounts. It's tough to find an L this clean anymore, and factor in the suspension I paid $987 for, and the $650+ worth of wheels/tires and a $100 fuel pump and I'd say you're getting a pretty good deal. Not super interested in trades, unless it's a nice Cummin's Ram.
Obviously, it will need to be towed/trailered to it's new destination.
I will not tolerate tire kicking, as I don't have time for it. I have posted extremely detailed pictures of the car. If there is something in particular you want to see, let me know and I'll see if I can take some more for you, IF YOU'RE SERIOUS.
The car will be on ebay in a matter of days if there is no interest.
Thanks for looking.
